Winter White Russian Cocktail

White Russian Cocktail Recipe

In honour of the fact we had a flurry of snow this week in London, today’s Friday Cocktail is the White Russian. The cocktail lasted about as long as the snow, because, in our house, we love a creamy cocktail.

And this one is the queen of creamy cocktails. It’s full flavored, but the cream makes it so palatable. With the hint of coffee this is an ideal after dinner drink, although really, it works at any time of day for me *old lush*.

The snow may have melted but it’s still cold, so let this White Russian warm you through this weekend.

Here’s the ingredients, short but sweet.

Start by taking a good solid tumbler. Add ice cubes.

Pour in the generous shot of vodka, followed by the wonderful, if slightly old school, Tia Maria.

Give these perfect spirits a stir.

I am pretty sure if you top up with Coke here this becomes a Black Russian, which is equally drinkable, and very 80’s.

However, here, we are adding some single or double cream. So fill your boots and slowly pour this over the spirits. Garnish with a fragrant grating of fresh nutmeg.

And there you have it. So simple, but so drinkable.

Give it a stir before you drink it, then sip and enjoy.

Honey cashews are an optional extra. Happy Cocktail Friday to you.
